Virginia Beach Central Library and various locations in Norfolk Public Libraries have videos and books about Sumi-e. Blue Heron Chapter donated many of these items. Sumi-e is included in the “Fine Arts” section of the libraries.
OAS (Oriental Art Supply) – Ning Yeh and his family offer extensive Sumi-e video lessons, sometimes free, in addition to selling Sumi-e art supplies.
Blue Heron Arts – Henry Li and his staff offer Sumi-e video lessons.
Search YouTube for "Sumi-e demonstrations". Many are in Chinese, but the idea is to watch how a master artist moves the brush to create a painting.
